Hi I gave my Truffle Olestyr Cholesternine for Dirarhea as directed by Vet he was in hospital for dehydration and heat and diarrhea... but he is not eating today and not wanting to move to much so I'm guessing its side effects bc yesterday he was great! I didn't give him the full amount either just a small amount. It's a Canada Day Holiday here ... left message with Vet. Anyone know how long before side effects pass? I stopped giving him yesterday at 11am.

This isnt a medication I know anything about, so cannot help specifically.
However, the guide below will help you with how to help him now - you must step in with syringe feeding him and ensure you weigh him daily

Oh shoot! Cholestyramine ... anti diarrheal medication... do you know of any other brand that would cause side effects. As this would be similar.... his weight is fine.

He is eating hay... not vegetables... just not wanting to move too much so I'm guessing his tummy is upset from medication

Ok - you said in your first post that he isn’t eating today. It’s good if you are still seeing him eat hay, but as you can’t judge intake by eye, do weigh him every day. If it is only today he hasn’t been eating then it’s possible you won’t see any effects of reduced hay intake as a result of an upset tummy until tomorrow onwards. A piggy with diarrhoea shouldnt be given veg in any event.
I would also give him a probiotic or ideally poop soup if he has a healthy companion to help restore the gut bacteria

Ok thank you. He is eating hay and his pellets. He is having stomach ache from anti diarrhea medication so I stopped. I'll try poop soup and no vegetables, but he hasn't had any since yesterday at 6pm

Is he in anything else apart from the anti diarrhoea medication? Have you been weighing him weekly or daily? You say his weight is fine - has it been stable +/- a few grams?
