Hi there, I'm a bit concerned about my old piggie arnie, he turned 4 in June and has lost a little bit of weight since I moved house with him in April.
Is there any way I can sort of bulk him up a little just so he’s a little healthier? Any advice would be great too.
Thank you

How much weight has he lost?
Has he been seen by a vet?

Ensuring he has a good hay based diet is the most important part. You can give a small amount of oats to help with weight gain, but just double checking there isn’t a medical element to it would be a good thing to do first of all

I agree about having him vet checked just to rule out any medical causes. My Edward has just turned 6 and has lost around 200g in the last 12 months or so. But he has been vet checked who confirmed he is healthy and it’s age related weight loss

4 isn't really that old - are you sure of his age? George is pushing 5 and has a few older-boar health issues (arthritis, a bit of impaction) and he's still maintaining at a hefty 1.4 kilo. There are little things that can cause them to eat less - if they are in a bit of discomfort from bladder issues or the beginnings of teeth problems and it'd be much better (and cheaper overall!) to investigate and catch it early so I'd add my vote to a vet check.

If he has a piggy friend are they also still the same weight as before? Or have both lost a bit?

Another thing to consider is did the house move and new environment cause any disruption to the bond. Watch to make sure Arnie is able to eat undisturbed and is not being chased away from food. Good luck! x
