My guinea pig Gus has been with us for quite some time, despite not knowing his actual age I would estimate he is around 5-6 years old, he was always a very relaxed Guinea pig but his recent behaviour has become distressing, he does not seem to eat very much anymore ( or at least not in the same quantity ), he is taking long deep sleeps, lacks his usual strength and I have heard his stomach Grumble on a variety of occasions. Due to his age I believe he will be crossing the rainbow bridge soon, and was looking to see if this was possibly health associated and maybe even looking for advice on how to ease whatever he’s going through? He’s my last Guinea pig and he means an awful lot to me so I would appreciate any help

It would be hard to give any advice until you know what’s wrong with him. Please consider taking to the vets. They could give him a check over and let you know if he’s okay and it’s just old age or if there is anything amiss. It could make his last days comfortable and give you peace of mind that he’s got the best care possible until he crosses the rainbow bridge.
