Guinea pigs cannot live in a hutch outside unless it is in a heated shed. They cannot deal with extreme temperature.

It is still too cold for piggies outside. You can keep them outside if they are in an insulated shed in a large hutch with snugglesafes and loads of hay etc. There are threads about keeping piggies outside so please read up on these.Mine are inside so I can't help you that much.Boss Hogg has his in a heated shed

Thanks, i had read up on keeping them outside on other threads here, i just wondered if someone might know if they would like or not like the height of this type of hutch as most people seem to use lower level hutches

Really they are better suited to living inside. Many rescues will not rehome if they are not to live inside.

I agree with Claire, the extra height wouldn't be much use so may as well spend the money on something more suited :)

ok thanks, i just thought it might be easier for cleaning etc Perhaps I should invest in a smaller outdoor hutch and indoor cage instead

if you can keep them inside that would be great. C&c cages are pretty cheap for the space you would get. You could get them a run for the nice weather for outside. Unless you buy at least a 120 length cage for girls or a 140 for boys the cage would be too small. You get way more space for your money if you get c&c
