Hi, what I did is to comfort them by having something that they like there for mine it was there pet caddy(and you could try some food). Then maybe have him on your lap for a little bit or have a snack as well and then put him down with some food and wait for him to adjust to his new surrounds(he can also do this on your lap).We have bits of gravel chuncks at the side of the patio and the birds pull them out into the middle so we have to be a bit carefully and obviously you have to be for the animals and the plants. We have plants on there but they are on the side.if you need anymore help please ask xxThats so cute but how do you catch them again? Theo also decided to explore the patio today by jumping straight out of the 30cm high box I use to carry him to the hutch and trying to run away while I scrabbled to catch him... patio exploring is not on our schedule due to cats and seagulls and foxgloves and honeysuckle, but we might consider it in a small managed way with a playpen if I knew how to catch the piggies afterwards!
