I've seen my dermatologist today & hurrah he's admitting me. ;D
I still have pneumonia or at least the infection is still in my lungs & i still have a small amount of fluid in my chest wall next to my left lung, it's now been 3.5 months & i'm fed up.
My derm can't prescribe me any meds for my psoriasis because they're all immunosuppressants so i'm going in on Friday to have plenty of rest, be wrapped in clingfilm & stockinette & blathered in tar - i'll smell divine lol

I'll be out with wonderfully smooth skin & be able to breathe properly or at least that's my aim

I'll have plenty to catch up on when i'm back & look forward to reading everyone's posts & looking at all your pics :)

Thank you Kathryn, i'm looking forward to going in as one of my friends went in today & hopefully they'll sort me out properly ;D

Well, i dont know many people who are happy about going into hospital! I hope they sort you out, and that you get well soon.

Well enjoy the rest and I hope it makes you more comfortable :)

LOL It's my annual holiday, i've been going in at least once a year since 1980the ward has single rooms with a tv & some have fridges so it's not really like going into hosp & i know all the nurses & docs but the best bit is the peace - oh joy ;D

yes enjoy the rest and I'm sure you'll come out with silky smooth skin, take a few good books in with you, sounds quite inviting i can understand your enjoyment, ;)

Good Luck and Take Care.

Hope you are feeling better when you come back out.

Lots of good luck! Hope it all works out OK. Have you ever had phototherapy for your skin - I had two courses some years ago.

:)

I have Lucinda PUVA & Narrow Band B
PUVA was in the 80's & i burnt after 12 mins they've never offered me it again. UVB was in 96 -i was only in the box for 14 SECONDS & was covered from head to toe - a polymorphic light eruption they called it - Bloody Sore is what i called it as you can guess phototherapy is a no no ;D

Thank you everyone for your kind wishes

I was much the same with phototherapy. I burned straight away and got a bad reaction with the soak so I had to change to tablets and have a very tiny dose of light. It was concluded I have an "allergy" to sunlight, which i pretty much knew anyway, as I have white freckly skin and burn in seconds!

I don't think phototherapy is something you want to have too often with a bad skin anyway.

I'm the same i have an "allergy" to sunlight too but am not that fair skinned or freckly, apparantly it's just sensitive skin, or the bits with p are. My face goes brown but anywhere with P on it flares like mad but this summer i discovered garniers transparent sunscreen & it worked - it was a life changing experience to go out on a sunnyish day in a t-shirt ;D Previously to this i had to hang my washing out with my OH holding the parasol above my head ;D
Why didn't i get him to hang the washing out? He wouldn't 've done it right, it's one of my pet obsessions :D

he he I use a brollie in the summer as a parasol. I was the first person in Bath to do this, now loads of the copy me!

I also use Factor 50 as a "foundation".

I love it! I too have used a brolly & boy do you get some strange looks, all wrapped up in a sweatshirt & jeans & a brolly to top off the outfit ;D

Now i'm quite happy to answer questions but i do take umbrance at being stared at & can be rather vocal in expressing this :D :D

I was working in a shop when my hands were so bad and I had the comments. Then I tried wearing white cotton gloves but the comments were worse!

I find the best moisturiser is paraffin 50-50, and the best steroid is dermavate.

50-50 makes me itch like mad. I was introduced to Hydromol last June & it's divine, it comes in a 500g tub & as a bath oil, i recommend it Lucinda :)

Dermovate is the strongest steroid there is i think, but it does it's job if you can get a gp to give it (they're funny here) next to that i like Elocon & at the mo i'm using Dovobet but i don't like it because it's too time consuming. It has to go on the affected area & at the mo i'm like a walking dot to dot - i prefer the whitewash approach :D

I have Dermavate on repeat prescription and have a lot of unopened packets. If you have trouble getting it and you'd like some, just email me.

Fingers crossed for you Niki, I hope it all goes well and you're back with us soon fighting fit! :)

Thinking of you Niki, I'll be in touch and give you a ring when you get home, I'll email you first though :)
Take care,
