I just cleaned my piggies cage and I was putting in some fresh food and noticed he pooped a few times (very common I know). But attached to one of them was a pinkish brown shaped line that kind of looked like a shriveled up poop. He has not been in any pain or shown any signs of being sick, he’s been eating and drinking fine too. I clean his cage very frequently. I’m wondering if it’s his food maybe?

If you could add a picture it may help us.

The normal advice if you are concerned about something is to switch from the routine weekly weight checks and instead weigh them daily instead so you can monitor a piggy really is still eating enough hay (hay intake can’t be gauged by eye).

That’s a picture of what came out of him, I’m going to be checking his weight every week. I’m usually very good at eyeing what he’s eating and how much but I will pay much closer attention to what he eats and how much.

It looks like it could be mucus. It may not be anything but sometimes it can suggest a digestive upset.
You should see a vet for any health concerns.

It’s never possible to eye how much they are eating because veg and pellets aren’t meals nor their main food.
Hay is three quarters of the daily food intake and it is impossible to know they are eating enough by watching them - they can be eating it still but have actually not been eating enough to maintain their weight.
They may be nibbling at some hay and still eating some veg and pellets but given veg and pellets are just snacks and not meals, jointly only make 20-25% of food intake, even a small drop in hay intake wont be noticed but can have a huge effect.
This is why the weekly weight checks are done weekly as part of routine lifelong care but you then switch to daily checks when there are health concerns as it allows much more close monitoring on a 24 hour basis.
A digestive upset will usually be linked to a reduction in hay intake.
