Good morning all!

So, I've been captured by the plight of a rescue bunny.. I was going to get one last year but he was offered a free range home elsewhere, so I didn't go ahead.

Now, I was wondering - we would have bunny free range in the kitchen during the day, but at night he would need to be put to bed. My partner isn't keen on more floor space being taken up by a rabbit cage, so I wondered whether it was possible to the the rabbi cage on top of my piggies cage (just for overnight, so no long term cramping)? It would be 100 x 54cm, so not ideal, even short term.

Or am I best to just not even consider it? I don't think my partner is movable on this one (I'm turning the living room into a pet palace..!).The other option is an outdoor hutch but I'm not a fan of animals outside..!

To be totally honest if he will need to be in a cage that size for more than a couple of hours I personally wouldn't consider it.
Our bunnies are super active overnight (not all the time, but for at least some of it) and still need a lot of space.
Most animals don't just 'go to bed' for 6 or 8 hours like we do, so putting him into such a small space (and on his own?) would not be offering an ideal environment for him.
I think it does sound like your partner isn't really on board with this right now, and rabbits need a lot of space 27/7.
You might be better to wait a bit longer until your partner has had time to come around to the idea.

Hi @Swissgreys , thank you for that - I totally agree.

When I got our two Piggies I just came home with them i na box, he had originally agreed to one, then when he saw two fell in love with them, but I don't think it would be fair on him or the bunny to just bring him home!

We are having the lean-to converted into a piggy room, so will raise the idea of it being a pet room nearer the time.

Thank you for not blindly encouraging me!
