When we got big red he had a bit of a scabby area on his back, looked clean and healing well and it wasn't tender to the touch but now it's almost healed properly I'm really confused.

It looks just like a snake bite (but obviously it can't be) and it's surrounded by a little bald patch. It's healed up really well but you can see what looks like two puncture holes, about 1cm apart.

So far as we know he wasn't in with rabbits so I'm really confused as to what could have caused the wounds - any ideas? It's on his hip area and doesn't bother him or stop him from humping the other one when the mood takes him!

I wondered that but then thought they were all too young to have been fighting like that, poor little man - I mentioned it to the pet shop lady when we got him home and she wasn't impressed. I'm sure she thought I was trying it on (but then I also think she didn't believe me that the other one had died - I got the impression she thought we were after a free guinea pig).
