Odd behaviour

Hi everyone

Morgan has recently displayed some odd behaviour. Normally both he and Red are fine, no problems picking them up and stroking them. Red is more inquisitive and will sniff when you feed them, etc.

When Nic cleans out their cage she will put them in their carry case, which we use for taking to vets or board. If we put Red in their first, then Morgan, no problem. If Morgan is in there first or we take Red out then put him back in Morgan will bite as if he's defending himself. This has happened twice now and Nic will put Red in there first, then Morgan. No problems at all this way. He bit me this evening when I put Red back. Little monkey made some good impressions.

As I say normally they are fine if a little timid and no problems if we pick them up or stroke them. Any ideas?

Hmm. He didn't do it until a couple of weeks ago, or perhaps its just a coincidence Nic had put Red in first and hadn't realised. Morgan always seems the head cheese and does weigh 1kg where Red is about 2/3 of that. So Morgan is just showing his dominance?

Wiebke is right piggies very much have a order with who does what so its not particularly worrying unless it got really violent. My piggies all get on fine but occasionally have the odd nip at each other to show whos boss hehe mallethead x

Been a couple of weeks now since he did that and as long as we follow the rules he's okay. I wish he would write the rules down though!
