Senior Guinea Pig
Jasmine has been exhibiting some very odd behaviour the last two days. She loves Dexter, but she has been obsessive about him this weekend. Constantly with her nose up his bum, and she will not leave him alone.
She is not rumbling or trying to mount, just always following and sitting next to him, sniffing him. Poor old Dexie adores his women, but he was so fed up last night he kept nipping her. All I heard all night were pitiful wails from Jasmine - and still she wouldn't let him be! I got up at 2am and moved Jasmine the other end of the cage, and she went right back to Dexter. I tried nudging her gently away, but she dug her heels in and would not move.
She was like this all yesterday and is the same today. I have no other reason to think she is in heat - there are no other signs aside from this behaviour. It's more obsessive than hormonal actions. She may be trying to be top pig, get Dexie on side so she can call herself to alpha lady - though if this is what she is doing, bugging Dexie is far from the best way to go about it!
Has anyone else come across this behaviour before?
