object permanence in guinea pigs?

Lovely video - but I suspect the pigs smell the lettuce (and uncover it by chance investigation) rather than truly comprehend the situation.
Show them the lettuce and then place it in a small polybag under the cloth! (Obviously watch that they don't bite into the bag).
