I was meant to pick up nuggets on my way home today as I forgot to add them to my pets at home order but I completely forgot and now we are out of nuggets. I won’t be able to get until friday or thursday, but likely friday.

I know nuggets are a very small portion of the diet so generally wouldn’t be missed but they’re quite fatty, and as it’s going to be 0 degrees at the coldest tonight and the highest reaching 6 degrees until the weekend where I am, I am worried this will affect my guinea pigs.
I know this probably isn’t recommended but I feed my boys more nuggets and veg in the winter, as I live in NE scotland and the highest temperature it’s reached this past month is 12 degrees. So the nuggets are almost an essential extra calorie there ready for my pigs to disperse on these freezing nights.

Is there anything I can substitute with or will they survive a couple days without?

:agr:

It will not hurt them not to have nuggets for a few days.
I give my two oldies porridge oats now it’s winter but I still only give pellets three times a week
