Toffee was always very stubbon with other guineas and would only take to whiskers, well as you know whiskers passed away tuesday, and i have tried toffee with 6 others including a neutered boar of mine and she just keeps attacking them :(

so this now means toffee will have to be kept alone but in a divider next to my group of neutered boar and sows.

such ashame but i was very unsure if she would take to another one.

i even tried her with fairies baby approx 12 wks old and she was the same with her :(

seems whiskers was the friend for her :(

she seems ok eating well she seems like she has come out of her self a little more as she was always a shy guinea who kept her self hiden i have had her 3yrs now she was a rescue down south where 200 guineas were found kept in a dark shed.

aaaw :( Thats so sad. My Naala wouldnt take to anyone for ages! Until i was given a very tiny baby girl! Atleast she can still see them through the divider and talk to them :)

whiskers, and toffee did live with sally for over 2yrs but toffee just turned on sally one day not sure why but when i tried to re-introduce them toffee and sally kicked off on each other, and toffee was only happy with whiskers, think because whiskers was a guinea that took no s**t and toffee was always put in her place.

but she wouldnt even take to baby buff who is neutered and he is a really bossy but lovely boar and excepts anyone, as soon as any guinea came up to toffee yesterday she kicked of on them and had a strange look on her face like she was ready turn any mo.
:(

It does sound like she's a bit of a dominant piggie. Sometimes taking them right out if their territory and a large, confident neutered male can work. I did an intro once where I used a mesh cage within a c&c and swapped them over every few hours during the day for a couple of weeks.

Having plenty to eat can distract the dominant guinea as well - it's a shame it's the wrong time of year for outside runs. I managed a nightmare intro between an established pair and a lone sow like this once - because everyone was so interested in the grass they were less interested in bickering. It was actually the same stroppy (but adorable) madam that I did the cage intro above with after her friends had both passed on.

I've tried bathing them together but not sure how well this works.

Oh its such a shame, maybe she needs a little more time to accept whiskers has passed, how long have you given her with each of the other piggies, there may be some squabbling to begin with until they get used to each other?

The only other thing i can thing of doing is matching her with a bonded pair? She will then feel like the odd one out to begin with so may calm down a little, but then you have the risk of the bonded pair attacking her.

Its hard, i'm sure you will be able to sort something, good luck xx

Hi Duck
Maybe just a bit more time to settle ! I am having similar problem with Cindy ! Hope she takes to Billy after his snip :{
Maybe just try her side by side then and just give her time to get use to smells and sounds x Hen

i tried her with my neutered boar and his 4 girls things seemed ok at first for around 30 mins but then when they started to sniff her she was biting them and all of them started teeth chattering and rearing up :(

so i then tried her with the youngest of the group aged 12 wks as she was letting the 12 week old one Poppy snuggle up to her, but soon as poppy moved toffee was really biting her so i removed her.:(
Toffee can be a when toffee and sally fell out toffee bit sally through the mouth and really made her bleed, she is defo a firey sow

Oh, its such a pitty, i would say if they were just chasing each other then just persevere but if its as bad as that then obviously not. I hope she will accept some piggy one day, it would be horrible for her to be on her own, if it is an option for you, could you go to a local rescue with toffee and try and match her with a rescue piggy.

Weeble came to me & i was told she didn't like other pigs but i did bond her to Tait & after Toddie passed leaving his 5 girls i bonded her & Tait to them BUT it did take numerous introductions before she stopped flying at everyone.

I would keep trying her Claire, when she realises they are friend not foe she may well accept another pig(s).

I do sympathise with your situation.

I have a piggie sow and it took a while for her to bond happily with a juvenile boy. Unfortunately the boar passed away suddenly recently (aged about 2 years) and we (hesitantly) think she may have actually suffocated him in view of her past behaviour.

6 months on and she is still on her own and it is quite clear that she is a very demanding madam......wheeking for cuddles/attention by 9pm on the dot...and she won;t take kindly to anything else coming in between her and her cuddles.

As with humans....some don;t "live well" with others. We think this piggie has a personality disorder.......which prompts her to behave the way she does. No way are we going to try ad bond her with another piggie as it;s very clear she wants ALL the attention for herself.....and ONLY herswlf

So unfortunately she will live out her life without a further partner :(

P.S. Her name is Pierrot ..but we are thinking of changing it to Black Widow!
