My guinea opey isn’t moving around like normal and isn’t eating. It started randomly yesterday. I’ve had him for almost 2 and he is about 3 years old. i haven’t noticed any fever, crusty nose or eyes, frizzed out hair, or anything alarming. i’m not sure what is wrong with him or how to help him. he’s isn’t a very friendly guinea pig and he’s still a little skittish no matter how much we try to interact. i wanted to see if anyone here knew anything that would help before taking him to the vet. Thank you!

Please see a vet.
We cannot tell you what is wrong with your piggy and seeing a vet is the important thing to do.

As he isn’t eating you must step in and syringe feed him straight away. Use his normal pellets and mush them up with water and syringe that to him as an emergency measure. You can also purchase a proper recovery feed such as Oxbow critical care to feed to him.
Please switch from routine weekly weight checks and instead weigh him every day so you can be sure he is getting enough syringe feed so that he doesn’t lose weight while he is unwell. You will likely need to feed him every couple of hours.

I hope he is ok.

I am very sorry that Opey is unwell. Please step in with syringe feeding if he isn't eating for himself and have him seen by a vet. Only a vet can diagnose and prescribe the correct treatment. Unfortunately we can't tell you what is wrong. I hope he will be ok x
