My beautiful Albie has polyps under his tooth which the amazing Kim has tried to treat but alas even on 1ml of Metacam + 0.15 Tramadol, he’s miserable & reluctant to eat much. I'm topping him up w CC, he’s just not himself & I hate to think he’s in pain. I’m going away on Saturday for 5 nights (worst timing ever) & don’t know whether to take him for his last ever vets visit 😢 before I go, leaving Reggie (His partner in crime) alone in a boarders for 5 nights, or to take him as soon as I get back. Reggie too is behaving strangely, as if he’s sad for his friend. Is this normal? Can he sense his buddy is unwell? It’s so sad & I don’t know what to do for the best.

So sorry for you and the situation you are in. I really don’t know what I would do. Can you take both of them with you at all? Is there anyone who can look after them both until you get back? Oh you are really between a rock and a hard place.
Can you ask Kim if you can up the medication a little if you think he is in pain?

Hi!

I am extremely sorry for the situation. These things always tend to happen at the worst of times! :(

I would recommend that you speak to two people:
- Your boarder - are they prepared to syringe feed a very ill piggy round the clock for 6 days?
- @furryfriends (TEAS)

PS: Guinea pigs have a much finer sense of what is wrong with others than us humans. It has often been the companions that have alerted me that something was wrong. Reggie knows for sure that Albie is not well and is very unhappy about it.
