my boy Heisenberg is currently in a hutch outside and he's by himself (have a piggy for him for bonding but not too sure how that's going to pan out) and my boyfriend said that we can bring him inside if I get an inside cage for him but the only space we really have To put it is quite small, too small for the recommended size for a piggy.
I want to make his life as good as I possibly can and I hate the thought of him outside when it is cold or rainy because his hutch isn't really the best for winter. I dont know what I should do. Do I bring him inside for the winter or just bring him in when the weather isn't too good or just leave him outside?
He's not a particularly active pig so I don't think he's that bothered about space but I just don't want to do the wrong thing.
I thought getting all of your ideas would be best. Also, I can't afford a C&C cage unfortunately and wouldn't have anywhere to put it either.
Thank you for your help:)

The minimum recommended size for a single or pair of piggies is 120cm x 60cm. Lots of piggies aren't overly active but they do need enough space to keep fit and healthy and 'if' your bonding works out then you need a cage that is big enough for two piggies, to each have their own space and so they are not constantly tripping over food bowls etc.

If he can't have the space he needs indoors then making sure his hutch is weatherproof enough, filled with loads of extra hay and use heat pads (like snuggle safes) to help him keep cosy is the best bet.

Best thing to start with is what space have you got available then work from there. If you've only got a alcove that is a metre wide rather than the recommended minimum cage length of 1.2m long you could get a 1m sq cage. You can get these on amazon for £59.99 inc postage. c&c is by far the cheapest & easiest adaptable to fit in the space you've got. 10 grids would make a 3 x 2 c&c cage which is 42 inches x 28 inches but you could scale it down slighlty to fit where you want it to go. If you need any help with planning please don't hesitate to ask :) x
