We adopted our first guinea Pig in March ( Named Oakley) and were told Oakley was a male. When we adopted our 2nd 2 weeks ago ( Cinnamon) we made sure to get a male. We brought Oakley along to confirm he was male as my daughter had doubts. She is still convinced Oakley is a girl after spending a couple hours playing with her friends female guinea pigs.

It does look like a girl. If you gently push above the area, a penis will come out if it is a boy.

It does look like you have a sow there. If your pigs are together please separate them in case you have one of each gender. Might be worth posting pics of your other guinea so we can check that as well.

Hi!

You have indeed got a girl. Please do not mix them!

Here is our illustrated sexing guide, which teaches you how to sex your guinea pigs without ever having to rely on the guesses of other people, whose competence you know nothing about, ever again.
- Please pry the slit gently apart to check for the presence/absence of a fleshy seal just below the opening in both piggies (it is easier somebody else is holding the piggy). Sows have a seal while boars have a straight slit that simply goes down.
- Then gently feel for the presence/absence of a tiny penis shaft just below the skin about the knob.
If both areas come back with the same answer you can be 100% sure that you have got the correct gender. These two areas are much more gender specific than the often confusing arrangement of the genitalia on the outside.
You can find the pictures of where exactly to feel and how the slits look at different ages when you click on this link here: Sexing Guide
