Hi everyone!

We cut our guinea pigs nails 2 days before and realized one of them is not stepping on his right back feet when running around.

We did not cut into his leg thats for sure, we always make sure to check it with lights and everything so thats 99% not the case.
We tried to pushing it a bit and making some movement with it and he does not made a sound or wanted to take it from us, so we think he has no pain in his leg, its not swollen either.
We might think when we cut his nails we might moved his leg a bit wrong, (they are new, recently adopted them so they are not used to nail clipping yet anbd like to move around) or maybe when he was jumping around he hurt it.

There is no visible damage, and to movement he does not make a sound or anything that would say he has pain.
When he just walks around he steps on it without any problems he only lift it when he is running.

When should we seek the doctors help?

Yes do see a vet. Piggies can hide their pain so don’t always flinch etc if they are sore

Hi

It sounds like a mild sprain further up the leg to me. Just because a piggy is not putting the full weight on a foot doesn't mean that the problem is necessarily located in the foot; it can be a muscle or joint anywhere up to the spine. Sprains are not at all uncommon in lively and especially younger piggies. All it takes is a bad landing from a jump or popcorn. ;)

The fact that you have just cut the nails is very likely just coincidence.
