Anyone else seen them? It's pretty much pitch black here but we were told if you put your phone on night mode and take pictures of the sky, you can see them. They weren't wrong! I can just about make out a very faint pink haze by eye, but got a few lovely pictures!

Lovely! Yeah we only knew to go out because my brother called 😅 luckily we're always awake until at least midnight anyway. Its been on Mum's bucket list for years so I'm glad she was able to see them, she's so happy

I missed them 🤦🏼‍♀️ Darned tiredness.
All over FB are amazing photos taken by friends and neighbours

I slept through them but hubbie took this picture. I’ve been to Norway, Sweden, Iceland and Finland in winter for years and seen them only once briefly and here they are in my back garden 😀

Amazing! I have seen the Northern Lights many times when I had a caravan in Galloway, it ceases to amaze me. Looked out around 2.00 am but didn’t see anything

We didn't see it here. Not sure why coz it was clear sky last night. Hubby was so disappointed coz he kept coming out last night to check it. 👎 He checked online this morning and he said it was visible after 11pm but we never saw it.

They should be around again this evening. Possibly even stronger than last night 🤞🏻

Don’t worry if you can’t see them with the naked eye. Set your camera to night setting and no flash and take a photo facing north. Hopefully they will show up on the pictures

Not at all natural (Hence why we've never seen them as far South as many people have over the last couple of days, and they're called 'Northern Lights'!), but caused by something called HAARP (High Active Auroral Research Project).....

HAARP, the most powerful ionosphere heater on Earth

Also, apparently 'natural' Northern Lights are more blue/purple and not pink. I've been reading all about it on Twitter/X and many people are now saying that it was indeed caused by HAARP and even some media outlets.

@Storm1974 : Don't believe all you read on social media.

Please note that the floods in Dubai were caused mainly by climate change and not cloud seeding, the effects of which were minimal.
See the BBC debunk: Deadly Dubai floods made worse by climate change

The current aurora borealis is quite simply the result of the biggest solar storm to hit Earth since 2003 due to the sun coming up to another peak in solar activity. A large erupting sun spot is currently orientated straight towards us. These peaks happen roughly ca. every 11 years but they can vary in strength; the spots are also not necessarily fully directed towards us when they make a huge belch. After all, Earth is just a very small dot in space when you look from the sun.
But there is no human manipulation or interference needed to explain it. I can assure you that there were no human experiments going on in 2003 when there were lots of worries about vital software being affected instead - I remember that one well. Nothing broke down or brought Earth to a standstill then... ;)

The various aurora colours (there is actually quite a natural range) are the result of mainly oxygen and nitrogen which are the two largest components in our atmosphere being excited by electrons at different heights. Neon and Argon can also create visible colours but there is a lot less of them in the atmosphere compared to oxygen and nitrogen - the spread of colours depends on how much of the various dry gases there are in the atmospere and also on the different heights of where its atoms are energised; hence the curtain appearance.
Here is the breakdown of what gas creates which colour: "Oxygen gives off the fluorescent green and yellow colour of the aurora (most common) when hit by electrons in the solar system. Nitrogen causes blue or red colours and sometimes pink, while neon turns them orange."
Why there are Different Aurora Colours Explained by Aurora Nights

The intense colour in the pictures posted here is actually not what you really see with your own eyes (it is actually much fainter, which is why many people have missed it) but from maxed out standard picture manipulation. ;)

I don't believe everything I read on social media.....I also don't believe everything (Well very little actually) I hear on mainstream media, especially the BBC! 😆

It actually came out on news channels around the time, that the floods in Dubai were caused by cloud seeding.....But now they have changed the story and said it's due to 'climate change'. 😏

I have been doing 'my own' research into weather modification since 2012 and also found out that they (RAF) cloud seeded in 1952, in Lynmouth, which killed 35 people. I don't believe that 'climate change' is causing any of the unnatural weather events, or that this aurora borealis is natural at all, especially when it has been admitted to that HAARP was 'having tests' on the nights that this phenomena occurred ALL over the world, which has never ever happened before AND they have actually admitted that HAARP can cause aurora borealis!

Sorry, I prefer to disagree on all points but this is really going off topic on this thread.

The problem with conspiracy theories is that lack of actual evidence is taken as proof conspiracy is everywhere. It’s like saying you don’t see elephants hiding in trees because they’re just that good at it.

(Sorry for derailing🖤)

We have a telescope “park” that allow us to record distant cosmos, the Sun has been extremely active with more intense than normal solar storms :).

Pink and red shades are caused by different reactions in our atmosphere. Not at all abnormal.

Not conspiracy theories, the FACTS about weather manipulation/HAARP etc., are all out there, for anyone to find, if they wish to look!
