Can anyone offer me any advice please? I have 2 boars who get on ok, squabble a bit (mostly over food) but get on fine-and squeak for each other when separated. Edgar is normally the bully, chasing trigger and pinching food off him. trigger is so shy and timid, but as i said-they gel together ok despite being different. tonight, there seems to be a lot of grumbling going on in the cage, and its trigger who seems to have totally turned and bullies edgar-even following him into the bed area and chasing him. I sat trigger on my knee and he wouldn't sit still-again jumping all over the place-really hyper. I've separated them for tonight, but trigger has never been like this before-he seems to have just turned-any advice?

Ah boars! How old are they now? Have you read the 'Boars - simple dominance displays...' thread, it's a sticky at the top of this section and is really good.

It sounds like one has had enough of being the 'under-dog' to me, but if they haven't drawn blood I would try to let them ride it out. 2 of everything (bowls, hidey holes etc) might be wise in the meantime so they're not having to 'fight' over stuff.

Hope they're ok!

Looks like Trigger has hit the hormones and wants to be the most macho boy in the world!

Have EVERYTHING in two's and provide as much space as possible, and you have a very good chance of riding it out!

Thanks Sophie. They do have 2 of everything, apart from when they are out in the run then both like to sit together in the tube! This morning they were both in their separate cages looking sorry for themselves, but both squeaking like mad (it woke me up upstairs!) I'll put them back together tonight and keep an eye on them-naughty piggys!
