Hi, so my piggie has started chirping at nights for hours on end, she started about 2 weeks ago. I read that chirping isn't really understood but it could be due to unease, however, I am not seeing any signs of that between my girls during the day. My piggies cage is in my bedroom and I am really struggling to sleep because she usually starting from 2-4am and goes consistently until around 7am or until it's bright in my room. I don't really want to sleep with my lights on but I am not sure how else to stop this. I also would like any tips as to maybe why this is going on, if she is in distress, I would love tips or ideas on how to help! All the piggies recently had a clean bill of health and so I don't think it is health related either. Any ideas? Or should I start sleeping with a nightlight and earplugs? lol!

The problem is that it’s not known why they chirp. Could you move them to a different room?

Unfortunately, there cage is too big to fit in another room, plus it is open top and I have dogs, so that would be an issue too
I figured that I probably wouldn't get too many answers because the cause is unknown but I thought I'd try! Thank you :)

Unfortunately, there's no real way to stop them from chirping, as no one even really knows what it's for. Hopefully this will be a short-lived obsession for her (I've noticed that my pigs, when they do chirp, seem to do it often and then stop completely.) I think earplugs temporarily are probably your best bet! LOL! Kudos to you for managing to sleep with them in the room... once I had a quarantined pig in my bedroom for a week or so and I was losing my mind... never knew she drank so often at night, and that water bottle click drove me crazy!
