my piggie who is roughly 15 weeks old has in the last few days started nipping at my face and neck gently when i have him out on the setee with me. this is usually once he has had his treat and been playing around on the sofa running between me and my partner. it doesnt hurt. he has always been lively and a bit boistrous, but is this puberty kicking in or could it be him being affectionate?

Young piggies explore their world through nibbling at things. Nipping is also part of dominance. Licking and nibbling are also signs of affectionate piggy onteraction.

Discourage him gently and he won't persist.

Midge has always done this since she was small she is now 2yrs and still does it, normally when shes had enough cuddles and wants to get back in her hutch.

My 2 have never done this, they have licked my arm and attempted to bite it but once they see its not food they leave it alone.
I think its just because your piggy is quite young and is exploring.

Gizmo does this to me too, he gentle nips my neck. I'm not sure why as his favourite place is on my shoulder, but then he cant help having a nibble on ny necklace and neck!

Maybe your pig will grow out of it. :)

my two both seem to love licking and nibbling my fingers, Poppy especially gets dead into it and she looks like she's really concentrating!
She occasionally tries to bite my fingernails but other than that its very gentle so I just leave her to it!
She's also licked me on the nose and on the lip before when she crept up on me!
