Can guineas pigs see in the dark? I know guinea pigs don't really see well in general so I would assume they couldnt, but what do I know! I was just wondering because of they don't should I add lights around their cage to keep on at night? Or are they alright being in complete darkness for a few hours?

As you know, their vision isn’t great anyways.
I personally wouldn’t bother leaving a light on. Mine live outside in my shed so are in complete darkness from around 4.30pm until around 8am at the moment due to it being winter

Sight isn't the main sense in piggies like it is for us humans. My piggies live outside and they are fine in the dark.

I have inside piggies and i turn the light out in the piggy room when i go to bed and back on at morning feed time. It is a low energy bulb so i usually leave it on during the day in the winter months.

I just realized I wrote "Night Vision" in the title wrong :lol!::oops:

Corrected for you :))

As said above piggies rely on other senses as their sight isn't great anyway. They will be fine without lights on :)
