If they nibble a little bit it won't hurt but it wold really be better if they don't eat loads of it. I ad a piggy who liked to rip up newspaper but he didn't eat a lot of it. I use newspaper in my cages but it's covered by fleece bedding.
I usually line my hutches with newspaper but it gets covered with bedding and hay. If they happen to find a corner of the newspaper they may have a bicycle of the bit that is exposed but it’s never much
I use newspaper under a thick layer of hay and the other end has fleece mats on top of it. The odd bit of newsprint won’t do any harm. Can you give them a cardboard box to chew instead or a carrot cottage to distract them
Just bear in mind the ink might rub off onto your piggy. Not a problem but I ended up at the vet worried Jenny might have heart failure when it was diagnosed as an inky nose That was an expensive wipe with a hanky by the vet
