**Blah, realized i posted this in the wrong section, so I'm putting it here where it should be =)

Hi everyone, first time here.

I have 2 little pigs, Jack and Morgan (no i dont have a drinking problem =P )

I just built them a new cage today and i was wondering if its going to be big enough. I finally found some cubes in my store to make it with, and i used a tarp instead of coroplast. The cage measures about 4 feet wide and 8 feet long.

My other question is..how the heck do i make a removeable top? lol. other than disassembling the entire thing, I'm trying to find an easy way to get in there and clean the cage when the time comes for it (they just moved in tonight, so they should be good for a week.

Unfortunately, not having a closed cage is not an option for me, as we have 2 cats.

here is a picture of their new home. i dont get paid until midnight, so for now they dont have much. once midnight comes tho, time to go to walmart and get some toys =D

You can make tops from wire closet shelves. Just zip tie them together.

You can make the middle on stay in place and lift the sides up.

oh awesome! i didnt even think of that. another thing, ive noticed alot of people dont use bedding (i use the recycled paper stuff) and they just put down blankets and such.

how do you keep that clean? i mean, picking up the poop shouldnt be too hard, but what about pee? do you just take the blankets out every once in a while and wash them?

What you are seeing is fleece; What it essentially does is wick urine away to an absorbent layer below, which can be anything from towels to puppy training pads. You'll find people have different preferences as to which they use.

There is a great in-depth guide here, which goes into detail about how to get fleece to wick in the first place and the sorts of things you can use underneath.

Hope this helps!

Just thought I'd say that size is absolutely fine for two piggies, the recommended minimum size is 2ft x 4ft, you have 4 times as much space in your cage! I'm sure your piggies will be very happy about it. :)

I love the fact you have made such a big cage for them, I am sure they love their new home! And thank you Lissie for the tremendous recommendation for the cage top, what a brilliant idea! I don't need a top to mine at the moment but if I got any other pets I would

got them some fleece, and terry cloth for the padding under it. fleece pattern is pirates, yaarrrr. will post new pics once i figure out how to secure the top =D
