Hi Everyone, I'm new here and new to the world of piggies! I've got 2 young girls, told they were around 8-9 weeks and wondering if you have any newby tips? X

Hello :) Huge welcome to the forum :)

lovely to have you here, some great links have been given above so please have a read. But if you have any questions please ask, the forum is very friendly and helpful

What are your piggies names?

be lovely to see some photos of them

Lee

hi there.
we were all new to owning pigs when we all got our 1st ones so don't think your on your own.
Sometimes all the new info can be really overwhelming
there is always someone around to ask something no matter how daft you think the question might be...

This might seem a daft question, but how many of you are adults that have piggies for yourselves, not kids? I'm 35 and married with no kids. I already have a horse and a cat but took a mad notion for Guineas! Is that weird?

*holds hand up*
Married with just 2 tarantula's and 4 guinea pig's. OH is happy for me to be happy with them

That's good to know- my husband was worried I'd gone mad! He was dead set against getting them for ages, then he buckled, and now one of them is his! :lol!:

ahha, he's been taken in by their cute faces...
woh couldn't be...

I know it's so sweet. They're nice and calming at lap time too, they just chill and have some cuddles and snuffle about. V cute .

I'm 40 and the piggies are for me..
Although the hubby is hooked too
Started with 2 abd now have 8!

Haha. I am in my 50s and have 2 dogs 4 rabbits 6 hamsters and soon getting a pair of rescue guineapigs. So you are defo one of the crowd on here!

Welcome to the forum. It doesn't help to be piggy mad to join us but if you are piggy mad you are in good company.
I, too, am a mature adult and the piggies are all mine. I don't share them with my lads. There is no shame in being a grown up piggy slave. There are plenty of us on the forum

I'm 34 and have 3 children and a soon-to-be-husband! Piggies were the children's idea (well my eldest daughter who is almost 10!) but I've always loved piggies so I was totally onboard and love them to bits! We have had many piggies and bunnies through the years and I only took a break from having more until the kids got a little older! We also have 2 doggies

I like that phrase 'mature adult' makes us sound quite sensible!

my niece and husband have 2 guinea pigs and have no kids! I think its pretty normal! I am the main carer. The kids dont do much! :lol!:
