Ok so I stumbled across these.....

http://www.omlet.co.uk/products_services/products_services.php?view=Guinea Pigs

This isn't for me - my piggies are indoor piggies.

But it claims:

"The Eglu Pet for Guinea Pigs has been designed with both you and your guinea pigs in mind and is full of innovative features. The special twin walled structure insulates the Eglu Pet to keep your guinea pigs comfortable, no matter what the weather is like outside. Even on the hottest days it will be cool inside while you can be sure that your guinea pigs will be snug and warm in winter."

Wondered if anyone had one and what they thought? They are **** expensive at £405 a go and the runs for guinea pigs aren't long enough - just 1 metre.

Like I said, not for me or anything - but just being nosy and wondered what they were like?

xx

Oh yeah I have seen these around the internet a little :) I think they look quite cool looking lol. But not quite my thing either

You can also get bigger sizes for rabbits and things

If I was bought one as a present I think it would make a good outdoor run on nice days. I wouldn't pay their prices personally. Nor would I keep piggies in it full time as the indoor bit seems very small if they were shut in all night. I also think it could get quite damp/condensation inside if you had 2 piggies in there all night.

I do think they look cool though :))

funky as run time only but not as a permanent residence, and also waaaay too expensive to justify the price for any use!

It's like the smallest thing I ever laid eyes on! Well not quite but I don't think the sheltered part is really very adequate. It's nothing more than a glorified run - okay for daytime but I wouldn't leave anything in there overnight. I realise you can shut the shelter but it's tiny. It's not the worst accomodation I've seen but it's not the best either.

The supposed secure side or 'anti tunneling' plates wouldn't stop much. A fox or large dog could easily have that over. I've heard people have had to weight them in order to make them safer. They are advertised as 'fox resistant' though, not fox proof. I wouldn't buy one, my 8ft double tier hutch cost much less than £405.
