I recently had to separate my boys. I feel pretty awful about it, they're pining for each other but any attempts to re-bond in a neutral area end up in fights. Ultimately, I know there's nothing I can do, but I feel pretty bad for them.

I just re-arranged my boy's split cage so they can run laps... it looks so much smaller :( Unfortunately I can't extend their cages to 2x4 at the moment. Does anyone have tips for cage accessories that don't take up much space to facilitate zoomies? They used to have cuddle cups/snuggle sacks, but they impede running space now.

Previous cage (3x4 with 2x2 loft):

Hammocks under the loft area?
Or a fleece forest - mine love their fleece forest.

And don't feel bad - their homes are still wonderful, they are side by side, and you are doing a great job in a difficult situation.

Great idea with the fleece forest! It used to be one of the things that caused fighting, but that can't happen now...

The kind words are also very appreciated!

That looks like a good set up. How about those wooden log arches? They can still run through them.
