Here is my new Skyline maxi XXL fit with piggies! I paid just under £40 for it from zooplus and i couldn't be happier. I've added my own mezzanine (made from 2 C&C grids) which was so easy to do, the ramp cost me about £3.50 on ebay and they have no issues using it. Gives them a nice space to hide and feel safe below as well.

My boys are getting older and the longer I've had them the more I've learnt that they really arnt ones for running and tearing about. This cage is a little smaller than their previous C&C one and will be going into our bedroom to help make space for the new baby on top of some draws or a table. I am impressed with the space, although i wouldn't recommend it for every boar pair out there I've only dared to go smaller as I'm confident mine have a stable bond and that they definitely didn't use all of their last cages floor space.

I can comfortably fit two of everything in there (although i don't bother as they are well bonded) Only criticism i have is the door on the front is tiny. The door on the top is lovely sized and would be ideal if placing it on the floor, but as i have mine up high and I'm very short i find the front door a little bit of a pain. Also they hay rack that came with it is a pain (when you push any large amount of hay into it, it just pops off on the floor) I'm going to have to come up with something else to use.

Just did my first clean out and it was much easier to clean than i anticipated and much easier to wipe down that the plastic corex I'm used too.

What does anyone else with this cage think? and what do you guys think of the down size?

Looks good :-) I have a ferplast 120 for my boars so essentially the same and feel for them its an ok size I downsized from a ferplast 140 (4x2 c&c size) to a 120 (wee bit smaller than a 3x2 c&c) and honestly dont regret it one bit, for me it means the pigs are in a more central house location and they get more out cage time and cuddles. A 140 cage doesnt fit anywhere in my house other than my spare room, a 120 fits in my living room though I had to get rid of some furniture I went from 1 person to 3 people in a 2 bed terrace and having no spare bedroom so space is limited these days and we plan to try for a baby in the next year or so so in the end there will be even less space! The zoo will be allowed to decline in size over time to help make space, most of mine are smaller rodents so will not be around by the time we potentially have a wee un :-)

Yeah ive found having to compromise on space for the animals in favour of having space for the baby a hard one. But at the same time I am really looking forward to having them in my bedroom again as its only been six months since they left my bedroom and i wish they hadnt! i used to interact with them much more in there.

Looks good, I have pigs in the bedroom too and they do seem to come alive as soon as the light goes off.

I love the mezanine! I think I'm going to add one to Senna's cage if I can get grids. She only has a 100cmx50cm cage for the next 6 or so weeks, and then will be going into the new cage with Alfonzo depending on how they take to each other. But 6 weeks is a long time so I'd like some extra space for her!

I've found the skyline pretty good tbh, it withstands my 6kg cat walking along the top of it and lying down on it. As you say the front door is a little small but I can just reach into the corners. It's not the best door for taking big fat boars out but it's possible lol. It's great to clean and I've had it nearly a year and is showing no signs of wear anywhere :)

It looks great! I now have two boars in a 120 cm cage as i have had to split my trio. They seem fine, i take them in and out through the roof door as the front door is small.
I thought for a moment that your were planning to put the baby on top of a chest of drawers Connie!

I dont know how anyone sleeps with pigs in their room! You may want to reconsider that when the baby is born. My cat used to wake my son up meowing when he was tiny and it was so maddening!

Baby will have the nursery next door (dont worry, he or she wont be confined to a chest of draws ;) ) So the piggies shouldn't disturb baby from in there. We are moving their cage out of the living room as we have things like a baby swing, and a new nursing chair to make space for. I had had them in my room for 2 years before moving in with my other half in various set ups and various houses and i loved it. I'm not worried about the noise at all :) (mostly as I'm an extremely heavy sleeper)

Having watched them in it I think it is perfectly big enough, I just wish i was tall enough to use the roof door! Admittedly bump is not making that any easier.

All the baby equipment for the first year takes up soooo much space, all the play mats and swings etc. Your baby will love watching them!
