I'm quite excited about it. I've got about another 4 or 5 weeks to wait for its arrival, but it's a solidly built one with pretty thick walls. Creating a thread so that I can chart the arrival.

It's needed, as the back of our current, inhereted with the house shed it actually rotton with boards dropping out of it. There's no way it'd see us through another winter!

You're lucky piggies will be lovely and snug in their new abode in time for winter.

Don't keep us in suspense, share the shed you have ordered lol

I can't do that as it's being purpose built by a local timber merchant.

It will have an opening window, which will help with ventilation on those spring days when the pigs are still inside due to heavy rain first thing in the morning; which usually blows over us by about 2:00pm.

Hi Tewdric, where did you order your shed if you don’t mind me asking? I need to order a new one and I’m trying to find some options, there are such a variety in terms of quality and cost! Quality is key as I don’t want to replace it for a long time.

We're using Walford Timber, a company based just outside Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire. They're fairly local to us and give you lots of options on their premier range.

So todays the day.

The new shed has been deliverd two weeks early! This has thrown all our plans for help with putting up the new one and dismantling the pld one into complete confusion. To top it all, it's decided to rain on us.

However, we do have a nice new shed waiting to be installed!

Just come in for a tea break, so I thought I'd upload a few pics!

The new 'flat-pack' shed.

The old shed - we're having trouble getting the roof to collapse. It contains the only sound bits of wood left on the building.

The pigs in their summer aviary with their waterproof covers on enjoying a perfect (and safe) view of all the activity. Apparently we're more interesting than breakfast this morning!

Injuries incurred - one rather deepish gash from an old nail through two layers of clothing. :( I'm keeping an eye on it. The bleeding has stopped for now.

What happened to our promised indian summer? It's gone cold and wet so suddenly here. At least your piggies will be lovely and snug in their new shed. Hope your injury heals quickly.

The shed is up. Doors and windows to add next.

My gang have tucked themselves up in a big pile of hay and gone to sleep. Can't blame them it's soaking out there. We've come in for hot drinks.

I can't wait to see the finished version of both inside and outside.
I was please when you said the shed came early,:yahoo:

Fabulous, are you putting the hutch inside the shed and have you had to put the hutch inside first before finish erecting? I’m just interested.

We've finished hanging the door and adding the roofing felt this morning. The rest of the day has been spent chopping up and carting the timber from the old shed to the local recycling centre.:D

@Mother Hubbard there's enough room to move the hutch in and out of the shed. So the pigs will continue to use their aviary during the warmer months, then move into the shed as the weather turns. They'll need to wait a bit for now though, as I need to finish weather proofing outside and lining the floor inside. I don't want them breathing in the fumes.

Evantually I hope to move the aviary to be adjacent to the shed and getting a 'run around' connecting kit tunnel thingy to link the two together....... one step at a time for now though.:lol!:

So the finishing touches have been added to the shed.

The waterproofing dried yesterday, so today was the day for moving the monsters indoors. We've had really bad fog in the mornings for the past few days, so it's about time to get everyone safely tucked up insde!

It's a slightly smaller shed than we had in the past (but much better made with really thick timber walls and an opening widow) but it's been a bit of a juggling game to get everything in.

But we've done it!

The pigs have their two story 6 by 2 ft hutch, with a 6ft by 3 ft run attached to it for winter exercise and playing.......

After their afternoon out in the run I moved the herd back in for tea..... were they bothered about the change in location? Were they heck! :D

At least they're happy!

That’s fantastic, Looks fab, well done!
Same as my set up, a playpen attached to the hutch in the shed. It’s great to be able to open the hutch door and they can still come out and stretch their legs even if they can’t go out on the lawn!
