After what feelings like months of planning I have finally moved all 6 of my piggies into their new home - a beautiful shed I had built for them. 2 familys of a boar and 2 sows in each group are living side by side in this new shed.

I am so thrilled that they have so much room to run and pop corn in.

Beautiful! That little house - do your pigs actually go in it? Mine have one very similar and they just sit under it!

Wow it looks amazing! Your piggies sure are lucky :)

That looks AWESOME! Cannot wait to see more photos when they are in there. Was it custom made?

Yes - I based the design on some other similar sheds I had seen on line. I will get some photos but my 2 mini herds are both in there now - and they are loving it! What is nice is that there are different areas for them to explore and so there is lots of room to get away from each other if they need to. I am so happy that they are happy!

Wow I'm really jealous, I really want one before September (insulated etc) ready for winter like a mini house. I looked at some summer houses, wendy houses and sheds but they're quite expensive and I'm not sure they're big enough or fit for purpose. What wood is yours made out of may I ask? I was concerned in case they chewed the wood.

Can't wait to see more pictures too! Thanks for the post.

You have some very lucky piggies :) are you getting anymore pigs? I would love one of those sheds for my piggies :)

Are the 2 groups separated? As if not the 2 boars could seriously fight over the sows.

Not sure how missed this before, but what a fantastic set up for your piggies.

Yes they are Julie one family has the penthouse suite and half the run space and the other family on the floor with the other half of the run. They are very happy. No teeth chattering or fighting
That's great. Lucky lucky piggies. Just I wasn't sure with your posts if they were all in together. Lol.

That looks amazing. We have been looking online trying to get inspiration for the new accommodation we are planning and was thinking of something like this. What are the dimensions? Also, do you shut the piggies in the boxes at night or are the confined to one area, and do you have heating/ventilation?

Actually amazing ! Please please please take pictures of your little furry family ! I'm so jealous ! Xoxoxo

Hi! the whole shed is 10ft by 5ft. the piggies are shut in the 'shed' side at night. We have insulated this side of the shed amd also have a shed heater in there. (Dimplex 80w bought from Screwfix).

The door to the 'shed' part is a stable door with an inner mesh door so we ensure this is open either half way or is left fully open during the day - so they get plenty of ventilation.

I love your piggys accommodation and was hoping to model our new piggy palace on yours but we don't have that much space available. I'm thinking that we will use a 6x4 shed we already have and attach a 6x3 kennel/run to it that I've seen on eBay. Just need to sort out how to attach the two together safely, and get the ventilation sorted. I'll see if I can find the same heater as you. Have you got any other tips, ideas or advice for me? We have 3 girls and I am thinking of adding a boy to the hurd, are your bores neutered, how did they cope with it? Xx

Yes my boys are both neutered. Both came through surgery really well. It was nerve wracking but I don't regret it because they are so happy with their wives!

Glad you like the set up. Good ventilation is key so try to fix up a mesh door inside your standard shed door so you can leave it open as much as possible whilst your piggies are safe inside

Whilst I remember one top tip I have got is for a water bottle holder. You can't use standard water bottle holders inside a shed because they need to be fixed through wire. I use water bottle holders made for bikes! They are super cheap and work beautifully. They even have screw holes in them! Perfect for fixing on the side of the shed.
