Hi all after some rearranging in the little bedroom I decided to take the gp's cage off the stand and put on the floor and attached a run permanently making a 3x6 home, I have decided to keep it this way and although so far all wee's seem to be in the 'cage area' where the hay is I still want to put something on the run part to protect the laminate flooring. They are on fleece so have put a plastic tablecloth down with towels and fleece, will this be enough protection do you think? I was thinking of maybe purchasing some correx could I just put it flat on the floor obviously covered in towel and fleece. I did think I could set up a c&c cage but I'm not sure if I would ever need to revert back to the old set up in the future.

Also if I definately know this is is going to be permanent I would love to rehome a rescue gp or two! How many is ok to have in 3x6?

Thankyou!

Seems I can comfortably house 3, though as the width is more could I maybe fit in 4? Maybe I should do 3 as the more room for them the better :(|)

I am in Cheshire. Got to get persuading my OH now rolleyes

The plastic tablecloth, towels and fleece will work fine. Mine lived on that for about 6 months!

I would recommend you get four at the same time or two and maybe add two later. Starting with three and then adding one can make that piggy a bit bullied... I've done just that and it took some time to get them working. The 3x6 are would work for 4. I have four in a space that's a little smaller but with a large hayloft. Be warned though that it will need poop patrol twice a day...

I already have two sows and thinking of adding another piggie but thought maybe best if add another 2 that are already paired? They also have a roam free in front room and I have a 4x4 run for garden however this quite chewed and will be getting a bigger one.

I do two poop controls now with two !rolleyes

Yes, in that case I think adding two is a good idea. They don't really need to be a bonded pair, I think. They will bond quickly enough being the new pigs on the block :)

Your house sounds like a very good place to be a pig :)
