Hye everyone.
Next week the first of the pigs will arrive but I just noticed the breeder seems to keep the piggies outside or in a shed of some sorts.
Here the pigs would be inside in a non heated extra bedroom that has been kept empty for a long while. Now this room isn't warm like the rest of the house but it's deffo warmer than outside.
I worry about this sudden change of temperature, especially because it's a young piggy of 4weeks old.
Should i worry ? Is there a way i can meet the piggy half way on this ?
Much love

You could open the window in the bedroom which will make it more like outside temps. 4 weeks old is a bit young for a guinea pig to be rehomed, They should really be 8 weeks old (6 at a push). I would be worried that they are too small to be split from brothers or sisters.

Boys need to be taken from mum at 3 weeks old but really most places and people wouldn't rehome a guinea pig until at least 6 weeks old. I am not saying you can't take him at 4 weeks I am just surprised that the breeder is letting them go at such a young age.

From my conversations with the breeder I think it was an accidental nest. It's all a bit confusing.

I have had an accidental litter of babies born 2 weeks ago and I will not rehome them until at least 6 weeks but I will probably wait until they are 8 weeks to make sure they are all ok and have a bit of body weight behind them and are all eating well. I know rescue centres will not rehome until they are 8 weeks old.

Should I inform her about this ? I think she just doesn't know ?

That is up to you but if you think that she may not know you can do or you can direct her to this forum and she can ask any questions that she may have. It is entirely up to the owner off the guinea pigs so if it is her choice to rehome at 4 weeks then she might be ok with this.
