I first posted on here in May and have been working up to getting 2 piggies since then, I wanted my kids to experience pets and kept guinea pigs myself as a kid. I tried really hard to source rescue guinea pigs but there just isn't anywhere up here that I've been able to find, SSPCA haven't had any in at all. We built our C&C cage all ready and I was holding off, but today we got 2 boars from PAH (don't hold it against me).

So they're settling in, they've been hiding together mostly with a bit of chasing going on, some making of little noises. I'm slightly anxious about them getting on as when I kept guinea pigs (many moons ago) they were in separate hutches. Not sure I'll sleep tonight.
hopefully they'll get on ok and will be lovely pets. They have been named Scruffy and Fluffyworm (?!)
This is the best pic I've been able to get so far - Scruffy, fastest piggie in the west ;)

Youngsters are notoriously difficult to catch on camera! At least they are moving around! Settling in takes time and patience. Food is usually a great lure.

And here is one for your children that they can be very much involved:

I have been looking on the sspca website to and no luck. A breeder in Thurso sometimes posts piggy babies on caithness.org and I will be getting 2 from her on September 1st. Don't know if that info is any use to you for future reference.

Good luck with your babies! would love to know how they get on and settle in!

Oh that's interesting, I was checking Caithness.org too, maybe looking in the wrong place. Look forward to seeing posts of your piggies when you get them :)

her latest bunch she hasn't posted yet as they are still young. But she posted a litter last month from a different sow and I enquired about them, unfortunatly they were 1 male and 1 female, she told me about the latest ones and so resereved 2 hehe. Her name is babybunny if you want to look her up.

I have 2 boys but would love to increase my Piggie family. I will certainly check out Caithness.org, as Balmore never seem to have piggies to rehome.
@LohBee hope your boys bring you as much joy as ours have us.

Balmore rarly get piggies but if there are ones in the inverness branch they can be transported to balmore if inspectors etc are making a trip to balmore. I enquired about it a while ago. some other branches may do it but it all comes down to having the manpower but they do work with inverness alot.
