We've had our 9 week old little boys and they've been home with us for 1 week, their settling in well, but we've noticed that their running about and doing funny little hopping jumping movements!,it's as if they've got an itch and pinging everywhere, and when their together there's lots of bum wiggling and funny noises?... Is it them trying to sort out chief piggy? Or something else?....

Hi and welcome. The funny hopping or jumping is what we tend to call popcorning. It means they are happy.

Bum wiggling and funny noises is likely to be sorting out dominance as you say. There is a thread on here telling you what signs to watch out for so that you know when it is serious and you might need to intervene. I'll try and find the lim for you.

Hi and welcome!

Happy guinea pigs popcorn and zoom (run around like mad), even playing dodgems with each other! ;)

If you want to know more about bonding behaviours and dominance, you may find the links via our information kit for new owners helpful: " Starter Kit" Of Information Threads For New Owners

Welcome to the wonderful world of interpreting piggy behaviour and sounds. Popcorning means you have very happy piggies!
