Wow it’s been a while since I was on here.
I made my pigs a new cage, and it has ramps. They’ve never had ramps before, and I’m afraid that they won’t use them. The whole cage is around 13 sq ft. They just sit in one spot. I know they need time to adjust, but overnight they haven’t moved much. What should I do?

How steep is the ramp? Can we have a photo of the setup to have a look at?

Nice to have you back on the forum :)

It’s at 30 degrees. I read somewhere that 30 degrees was ok. I placed one pig on the top this morning and I put a bunch of veggies on the ramps this morning to lure them.image.webp

They shouldn't be too steep for them. How many piggies do you have in there and what is the width?

Put a piece of kale at the centre and trail some more going up. My guinea pigs would give there right paws to get to kale

I’m trying to lure them to the top of the ramp. There’s a bunch of veggies they love. They only get their front feet on the ramp before giving up.

My Lara figured out her ramp but it took some time. I remember thinking the same way as you, I was hoping she will figure it out. I would give them some time to get used to the ramps. They will figure it out. It won't happen overnight.

Maybe try fixing a tunnel to them, or adding sides so it’s not so open. May I ask the dimensions of the cage? 41/2 doesn’t sound very long, are you sure it’s not longer?
