Hi there,

Unfortunately, one of our duo of pigs passed away in the new year. We were advised to get our remaining pig a new partner or she may become depressed. We went to a really lovely rescue and our pig, Polly, met her new friend to be, Penny.

Now, 2 months later we are seeing new behaviours! After the initial period of who is the dominant one (Penny is a lot more outgoing than our pig Petal who passed away, but Polly is still dominant) Polly has started to display behaviour such as vibrating when being held or stroked. This is not something she has done before. Penny (new pig) has, and we put that down to being in a new home and surroundings. However, they are quite happy being hand fed - no vibrating from either pig! In fact, Penny was vibrating and running away but as soon as food was involved she snuggled up next to me, peering up for more food! It seems Polly is copying Penny's behaviours - is this normal?

Thanks.
