Well I am so proud...I am useless when it comes to these sort of things, so I'm well impressed with it. I had to build it in the kitchen because it was too cold and dark outside. Piggies will be going into it in the morning. It feels really sturdy, and I think they will love it!

Please excuse any mess, assembling a hutch in your kitchen is a messy job!

Of course I had help from the felines...cats just cannot help being nosy! I think Rigsy loves it, she actually wanted to stay in it...

It makes a great kitty prison (just a joke, she wanted to be in there!)

Hey, that's brilliant - and I love the kitty helpers. Plus ... I spotted your collection of fridge magnets too - I've got more than 200 on my freezer!

AND .... I adore your avatar.

You did a great job now for the next pictures, piggies installed :(|)

Erm you did check you could get it out the door before putting on the roof didn't you?;)

We actually hadn't thought of that LOL but it got out OK! Luckily our shed has double doors so we got it into the shed ok.

Yes its the Lavendar Lodge, it seems very sturdy compared to some people telling me it was pants!

Thanks, thats Gizmo in my avatar! 200 magnets, wow! I had a double fridge freezer in my last house (family home) and now I live alone I just have a little fridge, I had to downsize my magnet collection! But I still have lots at home!

It looks amazing... You are good piggy slave hehe. I'm useless when it comes to building things 8...

I love sight-hounds and often stop greyhound owners and ask them about their dogs (they're usually rescues). Do you have to be really careful with your guinea-pigs in case she tries to kill them? I.e. if the guinea-pigs were free in the room, would she sight them, chase them and kill them, before you could stop her? My understanding was that if they see something, they're off, deaf to all calls and will only come back when they're ready - is this correct, or could you train her to ignore your guinea-pigs (which I thought you couldn't do with sight-hounds, unlike other breeds)? Thanks.

lol, i would never let a guinea run around the house free while she was in the room she **** would try but i have them in there cages (my six) and she doesnt bat an eye lid:(|) shes very good and we can have the guineas on our knee and she wont bother to get off the sofa to see what ive got think shes used to it nowrolleyes and shes also going blind:( but no i wouldnt trust her even if shes very laid back at times suzie has chased a cat in the garden and we shout her and she does stop

Thanks, I have 2. Todd was a very successful racer. He had a home before us who didn't listen to the rescue centre and they just bought a kitten without training Todd, and he killed the cat :( not his fault though. They wanted rid of him so we took him knowing we could train him. It took about 6 weeks before we could trust him, but now the cats snuggle up to him! We adopted him when he was 5.

Maddy was the same as yours, beaten and starved :( she wouldn't chase on the track, so her owner just kept her locked up in a shed, occasionally feeding her. She was found locked up, and the man admitted he was about to shoot her. She's had a lot of issues, but no urge to chase annything. She's doing well now, loves people and dogs. She is covered in scars though.

They are such wonderful dogs, I never understand how people can be so cruel!

Mine honestly don't show any interest in the rabbit or guinea pigs. I would never leave them alone obviously, but I am happy to have them in the same room, the dogs don't even move from their beds! :))

Here's some good photos, of my last girl Breagha, with Fudge

Not all sighthounds will chase, some are classed as non-chasers, or those with no instinct. They are no use for the tracks, but make great pets for those with small furries!

As for re-call, mine will still chase wild rabbits, out at the beach, I don't stop them because its in their blood and they do enjoy it (although they never catch any now!). However I can let them off and they will come back to me when I call.

Wow! Those pictures are amazing. Thanks for the tip - I didn't know there were non-chasers and that some will come back when called. I really love greyhounds and would consider getting one in the future.
