New hutch, but with a strange sleeping area?!

Just after a bit of advice...I've bought my piggies a new hutch with a run built in. It's great BUT the sleeping compartment has wood on the bottom with slits in! So I'm thinking draughty bums, wee and poo soaking in (and falling through the gaps!). Any ideas what I could put down that would be waterproof?

A couple of vinyl floor tiles should do the trick. B&q usually do cheap ones!
