Hi everyone! as I have stated previously I purchased my two gorgeous boys from pets at home and the cage they sold me is not big enough :( they are only 15 wks old max at the moment so I'm looking into new accomodation!

hope the link has worked, I've been looking at this and wondered what peoples opinions or experiences are.

They get out for regular exercise for at least 3 hours a day and will continue to do so

The ground floor space is very small; guinea pigs are roaming animals and not climbers. Especially boars profit from 2x5 ft instead of just the minimum RSPCA 2x4 ft recommendation for guinea pigs. Any extras on other levels are welcome, but do not count.

Have you looked into C&C cages?

I have looked into them but I also have 2 dogs that like to come in at night time, they are in the yard during the day, they would be fine but dont want to scare the piggies.
Any links to suitable housing or examples will be greatly appreciated as I want to do the best by my boys, just wish I had found the forum before :-(

You can get a lid for a C and C and there are some companies that sell the full kit. If not then I would go for at least a Ferplast 120 but preferably the 140.

I really like the ferplast cages. If you can afford it, go for 140 rather than 120. It really does make a difference. I also have a c and c cage and love that the best. I understand your worry about dogs. As others have said, you can buy them with lids. Maybe a stand and a lid would help? Mine is on a stand.

You could also make it more "solid" by using the connectors to build it and then also using cable ties.

Before I got the 1 metre x 1 metre square cage referred to by @PiggySmitten I had this hutch, which I used indoors. The bottom part was 1 metre by 1 metre with a lid (shown open in the photo) plus an upstairs 1 metre x 45 cm. I ended up having to put in a ramp tunnel to get Hazelnut to use both levels and to keep speedy Peanut Butter from hurtling off the ramp. Without the bottom extension I would not have got a 2 story hutch because I just don't think the bottom is big enough for 2 boys with their requirement of 2 of everything as well.
