Hi,

It seems like many I didn't discover this site until it was too late and I'd already been to Pets at Home for my two piggies... grrrr

So I ended up with a cage that is definitely too small for my boys and I desperately want to get them a new one.

Does anyone have any good recommendations for a double level indoor cage?

I was thinking maybe a rabbit indoor double one? Would that be enough?

I live in an apartment so space is a bit of an issue!

Thanks!

Hi and welcome!

Have a look through our members' cages gallery at the top of this section for inspiration. Many of us have switched to metal grid cages because they are so versatile and adaptable; apart from being a lot cheaper than a big traditional cage!

We have also got loads of information on all other aspects of guinea pig life and care, so please do not hesitate to ask any questions you may have. You may find that you will get the best and most answers if you post in the appropriate section.

PS: Where are you located (country/ County (UK) or state (US))? It will help us to post the appropriate links more quickly. You can do that in User CP/edit profile/location. We have members from all around the world, and our advice can differ considerably depending on where you are.

Thank you both for the advice! I'm going to look into C&C - though I'm not the best at DIY!

Neither am I, but they are actually not at all difficult, so we have all managed to cope! :))

All you need for making the correx trays is a measuring tape, a stanley knife and some duct tape. If you get your correx locally from a sign maker (prices vary, so ask around), they can cut the pieces already to the right size (don't forget to include the measure for the sides!), so you only have to cut through half the thickness of the correx in order to bend the sides.
