Dads just finished making the piggies new home, it's huge like a masion for the three girlies but we have ran out of saw dust and need it urgently any one know anywhere that will be open in South Shields or Sunderland on a Sunday after 5pm so I can get some?

Saw dust is not a suitable bedding for guinea pigs. It is very dusty and can cause them to have allergies. Vet bed or fleece is ideal as it is hypo-allergenic.

I have always used saw dust and hay for my piggies and they have always been fine and never been bothered by it, if it wasn't suitable fro them they wouldn't sell it

I don't know the area you live but supermarkets will be open at this time - you could pick up a bag of hay (even smaller supermarkets usually have some meadow hay in the pet section) and pick up some Huggies bed mats (probably only available from Tesco of similar sized) and just put hay direct on top of bed mats for the short term.

Other mats that will do the trick are puppy training mats and Huggies small mats (used to be called care mats) You will find the huggies stuff in the baby section of any large supermarket.

Garden centres often have pet supplies too but I don't know how late they open

Do you mean woodshavings? Woodshavings are fine ive personally used them for the last 10 years without issue, never used sawdust though? I dint think i ever would i know they sell it but this is just because it has always been sold but modern research and new beddings prove that sawdust can cause upper respitory issues aswell as irrated eyes. If you are struggling to find shavings at this time simply line with a layer of newspaper and loads of hay just until you cAn get some shavings tomorow.
