Hello, I'm Kate and have just joined the forum! I have two guineapigs Pippin(4 years), and Bertie (2 years).

I am in need of some advice for Pip, as all of a sudden he has had a sneezing "fit" where he sneezed approx 10 times in 6/7 minutes. I took him out of his cage and he had a little play and now seems to be fine.

Recently I have been away and his fleece bedding was replaced by my family to a dust free "carefresh" bedding. Also they had a cardboard house which I have taken out of the cage- could that be the reason for his sneezing?

Thankyou in advance!

They are very sensitive to any change so could be the carefresh causing it could be dust in the air you cant see or detect but they can ..the fact the sneezing stopped when you took him out makes me think it's something in the cage he could be allergic to..did he do this when fleece was in the cage if so I would remove the carefresh and go back to the fleece and see of it helps..if not id look for other causes if nothing else can be found and still sneezes id try going to a vet and see

I agree it is possibly the Carefresh, although it is labelled as dust free it can still cause a reaction. I would get a vet check to be sure though if he keeps doing it.
