Okay, So as some of you know Toby is getting a friend soon:rose (once the mites clear up and he is neatured) Anyways I'm wondering how I should introduce them he has lived alone for quite some time now and his socialising skills will be rusty:.... Any suggestions?

I'm not sue on how to introduce but just thought i would let you know they have to have a drying out period after a neuture i think 4 to 5 weeks not 100% sure. Definatly use neutral ground when introducing

Yeah I heard about the "drying out" period I wish I didn't have to wait so long :( But hey for the best :)

I am afraid so ... latent sperm can stay in the boars tubes for weeks! rolleyes

Anyway, when he is passed the 4/6 weeks drying out phase, just introduce them gradually. During lap time or out in the run, but on neutral territory.

Keep us posted when they do get together and how they get on!

thanks, Someone said in the living room is good as I have a dog and her scent will be lying around and that will add to the neautrality? Or is that a pile of poo lol ?

I can't comment about the dog scent it's not something I've ever heard about, but basically the key is you do not put the new pig in Toby's cage or somewhere he deems as his space.

Some people pop them in the bath tub ( without water ) others use the floor or the run I personally use my daughters old travel cot for introductions my husband cut a piece of hardboard to fit it and I put bedding in and igloos and treats and watch them with a towel at the ready
