Hi

I have just got my 10th g pig yesterday, my other are all unwanted piggies between 5 cages. Yesterday my new addition is the first one we got as a baby he 6 weeks old - called Ben. I got him to keep Harry who is about 18 months company.

Obviously i am introducing them together gently, they have been out in the run together and no probs apart from Ben following Harry everywhere, but up to me taking him, he did live with his dad.

I tried Harry in with Ben in Ben's temporary cage and Ben again chased Harry around (don't forget ben is the baby here) and even started to mount him.

My questions are,

Is this Normal
Is Ben actually Mounting him as girl boy thing?
Or does Ben think Harry is his mum or Dad?

My only concerns thay Harry may get fed up with this behaviour and go for him, he hasn't made an chatter teeth noises yet and he obviously knows he is a male as Harry hasn't tried to mount him which he does with my other 8 females.

Hope all that makes sense.

Quite normal behaviour. Just keep a check on them to make sure it doesn't get violent. Most pairings of those ages seem to settle down fine after a little while.
