Junior Guinea Pig
Hi everyone,
Just looking for a bit of advice. My elderly cat passed away a few weeks before Xmas last year, and a few days ago I brought home a pair of new boys. My old boy was absolutely good as gold with the guins, he didn't care about them and paid them no notice- I still never left them alone but honestly he barely even looked in their direction.
I'm wondering how best to get my new cats used to, and calm around, the guins. They are currently only allowed in the living room, kitchen, and as of today the hallway. I have a few ideas of how to do it such as swapping smells and bringing some of the guins stuff in with the cats. But I want to make sure when the cats are allowed in my room that it's all safe.
Just a few things to note- whenever I'm out of the flat my bedroom will be kept shut so the cats can't be in the same room as the guins. The guins are in a large C&C cage now raised up on a table and with a homemade lid. The guins are pretty ok with cats having been used to my old boy. I never plan to have the guins loose with the cats around, I just want to limit their interest so they don't try to get into the cage.
Any advice welcome.
