Well I waited with baited breath for the delivery man to arrive with my new R6A cage, after spending months deciding if this was the right home for my 2 boys.
Delivery arrived nice and early, opened the box, fit to bursting with excitement...and the cage was broken. The plastic tray that forms the bottom is smashed to bits in 2 corners.
To say I was beside myself was an understatement. I got straight on to Zooplus, who have already organised a replacement to be sent, plus 40% compensation, but I am so worried that the new one will arrive broken. The tray is so flimsy, and it is transported all the was from the Nehterlands with only cardboard for protection. Zooplus have asked me to send them a picture of the damage, as they will not take it away if the damage is too great, so I am left with a 1,5m cage to dispose of. Guess at least I will have spares of everything if needs be.
I'm so disappointed, was really looking forward to seeing my boys in their new home tonight.
Sorry, just needed to rant!

That is so annoying! Not only do they have to send you a replacement, they should give you money off for the inconvience.

Sorry to hear about your cage:( zooplus also delivered a damaged cage to me to a few months ago!

The lady I spoke to did say I could have 40% compensation, I yelled at her, not something I usually do, that I wanted a new cage not some money back. She reassured me that I would get a new cage plus some compensation, but I was so angry I didn't get her to explain about the comp, so not sure how or if I will get that.
Lily 74, did you get a replacement, un-damaged cage?

I think this is commonw ith zoplus but form what i hear they will replace anything untill your happy (or give up complaining)

I had the same thing happen to me with Zooplus - the cage arrived scratched and broken in places, thanks in part to a massive hole in the side of the box. Luckily, it was still usable (we needed it ASAP), and they did offer compensation, but it's so disappointing when your shiny new cage arrives all busted up.

I hope your replacement shows up soon! :)

yes it is very common for them have heard many stories of breakages plus the reviews on their website mentions about brakages
i myself ordered a 3 tiered cage from them and it was broken in the corners
the replacement was sent out as only a 2 tier instead of a 3 tier so i have just sent it back and asked for a refund the original cage cost me £30 to dispose of!
luckily i managed to get what i wanted on ebay which was good as only zooplus seem to do these cages

I read some of the reviews about Zooplus yesterday, wish i had read them earlier! I spoke to them again today, as they wanted a picture of the damage before deciding whether they would take the cage back when the replacement arrived. they have decided I can dispose of the old one myself, cheers!
I did say to them I was worried about the new one arriving damaged, as the packaging was so flimsy, all she would say was lets wait and see, but I am not holding out much hope, don't really see how an extremely large plastic basin is going to survive a trip by truck and boat from Holland is going to survive intact if it is just covered by cardboard! Not really rocket science is it!
I have decided that I am going to build the frame I have here, as they dont want it back. At least them when the new one arrives I can just slide the base tray in.
Keep fingers crossed please everyone that the new tray is ok!!

oh dear so they arent a good company to use then? i was looking at buying a 2 tier one from them but thinking not to now lol! any other good sites for 2 tier cages? xx

Maybe try Amazon? I was close to buying the Liberta Retreat from them, wish I had now. The Only reason I went for Zooplus was I liked the idea of the R6A cage, as the bottom slides out for cleaning. However looking at the cage frame that I have now built, I'm wondering whether the base will be secure enough, as the only thing holding it on to the cage is the 2 runners down the sides. Not sure I trust a 1.5m basin to be held in only by these.
Depending what it looks and feels like when I put the new bottom in I may end up securing it to the frame with bungees or something. Don't fancy the bottom of the cage falling through with my 2 precious boys inside it!

Hum, Zooplus have a bad reputation for damaged goods being received. I swore by their hay at one point but the last lot was awful - first few handfuls were ok but the rest felt musty and I wouldn't give it to the piggies. I dropped it off at a rescue hoping it may be of use to any bunnies etc. or for outside use :(
Got a full refund in the end but won't touch their products now :o
As someone else said, Amazon are the better company. I order all my piggy items from them now including 10k bags of pellets - excellent packaging and have waited no longer than two/three days for things to be delivered. Can plan my orders/deliveries to coincide with my days off, they are so precise :))
So sorry this has happened to you, know how exciting it is to have new stuff arrive and feel disillushioned.
They should give you a full refund - they asked me send our hay back, all 15k of the damn stuff. Told them to **** off :laluot_08: :x
Your babies will have a beautiful new home soon, steer clear of Zooplus though if possible ;)

I'm pretty sure the Liberta Retreat and R6A are the same cage....:{

I had 3 of the R6A cages (but sold them and bought the trixie 150's as i wanted to stack cages - to fit more in) and the rails that hold the base in place are pretty sturdy - i never had any issues with the base 'falling' out - even with my big boys running around :)

You could easily stack another two on your set up and use a little footstool to reach them like I do ;) :x :(|)

I have never ordered a cage from there but the other day I ordered a new water bottle (not sure if I like it but oh well) and a sofa thingy etc
anyway opened the box feeling all excited and hoped the glass bottle wouldn't be broken. Took out all the bubble wrap stuff and tried to get out the drinks bottle but it was stuck :{ Had a fight with the box and it turned out the person who boxed it all up must have shoved the drinks bottle in and the spout went through the side of the box! Well luckily no damage or anything but you know what I mean. Could have had half a broken box with things falling out or a broken spout come in the mail

Looking at the amazon site again, you're right, if only I'd twigged that earlier, I uses amazon for everything normally! Think I was swayed by the cheaper price and free postage on zooplus, never again!

Anyway the new cage is bring delivered on Wednesday. Fingers crossed everyone that it arrives in one piece!
