I'm thinking of making/buying a new cage for my piggies as Patch is being neutered and can then go with the girls but the girls current cage isn't big enough to accommodate Patch as well. Can people please post pics of their cages/ ideas for a new cage. I was thinking of making one with wood and wire netting. Any Ideas
Thanks:):)

Hello -

here is my cage - nearly finished - needs a couple of things doing to it - another ramp and the hayloft is going to be enlarged a bit.

Hope that helps.

You may find that a C&C cage like gpiew's (or even mine, even though both are quite big and have space for more than two gps) gives you more flexibility to divide and reassemble a bigger cage, so your boy could live next to his prospective girls while waiting and not feel so lonely, but you would be able to convert the whole setup into one bigger cage once he can move in with his girl(s).

One pack of grids consists of 17 35cm/14in square grids, so you can build anything from a 2x4 grid setup with a mezzanine floor to a big 2x6 or 3x5 grid one story cage. If you have the space, you can build a temporary 2x5 grid cage with a divider in order to house Patch separately next to one or two girls.
One pack of grids can cost as little as ca. £20 incl. delivery. For temporary housing, some cheap lino will do the trick. Otherwise we recommend correx from a local signmaker's.

Have a look in the cage and hutch gallery at the top of the housing section for ideas!

This is fab - how did you get all the perpex stuff ?

We've just bought the wood and wheels for ours to make it easier to manuver! How spooky.

Can't wait to be able to wheel it about a bit easier than now.

Thanks everyone! Your cage is very nice Gpeiw, how many piggys do you keep in it?
There should be an attachment file with a diagram of the cage I'm thinking of.
I created it 'Word Pad' because I created it in Microsoft word and it was too larger file size. I will try and load up the word document and compress it if you
cant open the word pad document.

It will have a total floor space of 17.53 square foot which is enough for three piggies isn't it? This is so Patch (after his operation) cann be with them.

The shelves under the cage is on have all the piggies stuff on e.g food, towels, shampoos, toys ect

Sorry The Word Pad document deleted pic. Saved it as JPG image
......try again ........
