Hi all
My new indoor cage is too small 100cm. And I don't want t o put my new pigs out in the hutch or run until it is warmer. What indoor cage would you buy with a budget of £80. At the moment the cage sits on a table but really I would still like a lid as we have a dog. I know the 100cm would only be ok for a few weeks and I got it cheap.

Thank you for taking the initiative to buy a bigger cage for your piggies! They will definitely thank you for it.

I would definitely recommend a C&C cage, with your budget. You can buy the grids and coroplast/correx for that amount. If you have girls, a 2x4 grid cage is the minimum, while if you have boys, a 2x5 grid is strongly recommended. You could build a lid out of grids. Two boxes of grids is enough to make a 2x5 with a lid, and one box of grids is enough to make a 2x4 with a lid or a 2x5 without.

The new cage is too small, I believe, but it will be okay for a little while as you set up and buy their new cage.

Good luck!

The same company have a 100 cm square one too. Is that better or 140 long ?

That's a very good question. 100 x 100 being 10000 cm2, verses 140 x 69 being 9660cm2. The square one gives more space overall, but the 140 cm one gives the pigs more room to run from one end to the other and they can be further apart from each other when they wish to be (they often will spend plenty of time together but occasionally they do like their own space).
I'd be interested to read other people's views, but I personally would still choose the 140 one.

If you are thinking of putting your piggies outside then C & C grids would be more practical for you to pack away, and also more adaptable for other uses like temporary housing on holiday or making a play pen.
That said I have a Little Friends 160 x 80 which we love, it's roomy and strong. I agree with @Critter on the 140 rectangular rather than square to give more run up for zoomies!
We added a loft and ramps to our cage to give more getting away from each other options and make it more interesting when playing follow my leader.IMG_6739.webp

I love your cage. I think 160 by 80 w.would be great. I will bring the pigs in at night so I need a cage indoor too. I love the like of the c and c cages but would like one complete
